With the low barrier to entry of POD, every Tom, Dick, and Harry is doing it, so it's not just DOING it that will give you success. Knowing how to SELL them though, is a different story...
Narrowing down your niche, targeting a SPECIFIC group of people, and getting crystal clear about your product is what will sell them in the end.
Step-by-step Instructions
Decide on your ideal customer. Who will be the person ideally buying your T-shirt and WHY.
Decide on the Niche that you will be operating in. Is it Goth, Horror, Humour, Personal Development, Cute Cats, Romantic quotes, etc.
Find designs (or create with AI, design it yourself, or buy) that fall within your niche and that will resonate with your target audience.
Choose a platform where you will build your "Shop", like Etsy, Redbubble, or Shopify, or a platform like Facebook Marketplace or TikTok shops.
Choose a POD partner that will print and fulfill your items and connect them to your "Shop"
Add your designs on whatever clothing articles you like (Some platforms have more than just clothing)
Set up the pricing and product descriptions
Create relevant content that will resonate with your target audience on Social Media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook.
Have a link in your Bio that takes them to a landing page for your shop so that you can grab their email address before they enter in exchange for a Free gift or discount.
Sell your stuff and make money.
Yes, I do make it sound easy and simple, and for the most part, it is.
Finding the right way to market it, will always be the one thing that will determine your success.
