This is What Happens When ChatGPT and Google Search have a baby...
This is by far one of my favourite search tools these days. Doing Research and checking facts as you go has never been easier...
Perplexity is one of the more useful AI tools out there. A lot of them are just fluff and full of hype but are only useful to a limited degree.
Enter Perplexity...
It works like a normal Search engine, but instead of you having to open up all the relevant websites to look for the information, it does it for you and summarizes it.
You can then continue asking it follow-up questions in a conversational style and get answers in the same way.
What makes it so different from just asking ChatGPT is that it does give you the website references where it got the information from, so if you are not sure about the information, you can check the references yourself.
One problem I have encountered doing research with ChatGPT - and a known issue with LLMs in general - is that they "hallucinate".
No, they didn't drop acid...
Let me explain, and you will understand why Perplaxity is better.
LLM Hallucinations...
LLMs work on a mathematical algorithm that takes your text input (your prompt) and calculates the response as the words with the highest probability that should follow.
Even though this is a terrible simplification, this is the least complicated and shortest I could get! It predicts through a mathematical equation what the PROBABLE right answer is - which it sometimes gets wrong.
Sometimes the LLM will fabricate "facts" in answers just to satisfy the algorithm, so it could sometimes be complete bullshit. If you don't know much about the topic or subject, you will believe these "Facts" and use them in whatever content you produce.
This will make you look like a complete fucking idiot when they turn out to be wrong...
And THIS is what makes Perplexity awesome!

With ChatGPT, unless you have some plugin, you can't always see where it gets its information from, so there's no of vetting it to see whether it's legit or not.
Perplexity, on the other hand, lists all the websites that it got its answers from which enables you to go and check for yourself whether the source of the information is solid or not.
This way, you can check your sources and make sure that your facts are straight, avoiding you looking like the dumbass that allowed ChatGPT to write your articles for you.
So please give it a try. It is so much more useful than Google and even better than ChatGPT for certain types of factual research.
Hit the button below to give it a try - It's free and even comes with a phone app.
